From Here 2016-2020

This work is about the light and surfaces of my home on Teviot Street. It began in 2014 when I made cyanotypes of the light and shadow play coming through the windows of this same home. Shortly after this cyanotype work, I became a wife and a mother, and found myself spending more time at home. I spent time looking at the space we shared, noticing how the light and surfaces interacted, and studying the surfaces of walls, doors, windows, floors, and objects. This work lends light a presence and thickness. The images are not constructed, but rather in the moment and fleeting.
